The Summer Engineering Institute (SEI) is three/five-week academic program for middle and high school students in the tri-cities, Hopewell, Petersburg & Richmond and surrounding counties. The program currently takes place at Virginia Commonwealth University and Virginia State University. The program is divided into five phases. Each phase addresses the needs of a specific grade and academic level. All phases attend daily sessions Monday through Thursday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Phases I, II, III and Research Assistant are three week sessions held at VSU and VCU consecutively. Phase IVA/IV is a five-week program held at VSU.
