ALTRIA RAPME SCHOLARSHIP

OFFICIAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Altria RAPME Scholarship is established for the purpose of providing financial support to RAPME participants enrolled and matriculating at Virginia State University (VSU). The award amount up to $5,000 and number of awards will be determined in accordance with guidelines established and in use by Virginia State University. In order to be considered for the Altria RAPME scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have participated in the RAPME Summer Engineering Institute.
  2. Must be enrolled or accepted to Virginia State University.
  3. Must be enrolled in the Department of Engineering and Technology.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.0 collegiate scale.
  5. May be eligible for renewal of the award so long as the student retains a 3.0 G.P.A.
  6. Complete and submit the Altria RAPME Scholarship Application Form.
  7. Submit, with the Altria RAPME Scholarship Application, the following:
    • One letter of reference from the RAPME Executive Director/ Board of Directors/ RAPME Instructor that can speak about your academic performance and potential.
    • An official transcript from the high school you are currently attending.

VSU RAPME SCHOLARSHIP

OFFICIAL SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

VSU RAPME Scholarship is established solely for the purpose of attracting and providing financial awards for students enrolled and matriculating at Virginia State University. The award amount and duration will be determined in accordance with guidelines established and in use by Virginia State University Foundation. In order to be considered for the Altria RAPME scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must have participated in the RAPME Summer Engineering Institute.
  2. Must be enrolled or accepted to Virginia State University.
  3. Must be incoming freshman (freshmen) enrolled in the Department of Engineering and Technology.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 on a 4.0 collegiate scale.
  5. May be eligible for renewal of the award so long as the student retains a 3.0 G.P.A.
  6. Complete and submit the VSU RAPME Scholarship Application Form.
  7. Submit, with the VSU RAPME Scholarship Application, the following:
    • One letter of reference from the RAPME Executive Director/ Board of Directors/ RAPME Instructor that can speak about your academic performance and potential.
    • An official transcript from the high school you are currently attending.

After a review of all of the submitted material, the Virginia State University’s Scholarship Committee will select several finalists for a personal interview. All scholarship applicants will be notified as to the status of their applications. Current scholarship recipients must submit an application and an official college transcript to be considered for renewal of the scholarship for the upcoming school year.

All material must be received at the RAPME office by June 25, 2010 for consideration for the 2010-2011 academic year.
